ABOUT THE PROJECT
In times of joy, sadness, strength, and crisis, art is an uplifting and healing force that can bring us all together. The aim of this initiative is to support artists of all kinds and weave art into life.
COVID-19 has pushed dancers out of the studio and into their homes where they don't have the proper spaces and equipment to dance to their fullest. We want to help out so we are partnering with local Austin visual artists to create one-of-a-kind artwork on the underside of wooden dance floors that celebrate dance, art, and life.
All pieces will be posted on our website for anyone to purchase as a tax-deductible donation to the artist and to Tapestry.

WHAT:
Create an original piece of visual art on the underside of a 4ft x 4ft portable wooden dance floor (see picture to the right). You and your art will be featured on our website as well as all of our social media platforms and email.
PROMPT:
Our mission is "Weaving dance into life." What does that mean to you?
TIMELINE:

Nov 16th - Submit your portfolio and your idea for your Dance Floor Art Piece based on the prompt.

Nov 17th - Get notified if you've been selected as one of our featured artists.

Dec 1st-6th - Submit your artwork for posting.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
We'll commission you to do the work and the items will be listed at an amount that compensates you at your rate and supports Tapestry. Or you have the option to donate your artwork. All rates will be discussed and confirmed during the selection process.
