Rhythm, Dance, Music & You!
Beginning in the Spring of 1992 Tapestry Dance began hosting FREE in-school lecture-demonstrations and workshops for K-8 students called Rhythm, Dance, Music & You!
The demonstrations are interactive; students participate in rhythm exercises and some times even tap on stage with the professionals!
"Non-profit partnerships with organizations like Tapestry make it possible for schools to have access to the arts. Programs like this fill in the gaps so that students are exposed to a wide variety of rich content, including exposure to music and dance. Tapestry has helped our students see themselves as talented creative individuals and inspire students to explore their talents and pursue their dreams!" - Joslin Elementary (Title One)

Evolution Of A Dancer
Tapestry dancer and TDC Academy Alumnus Tony Merriwether began his dance training through a scholarship connected to our "Rhythm, Dance, Music & You! Outreach Program. As a young student at Mathews Elementary, Tony was in the audience for many of these in-school education programs and soon became a student at Tapestry Dance Company Academy.
Taking all disciplines of dance and becoming a member of TDC's pre-apprentice program Visions In Rhythm, Tony eventually settled into his love of tap dance. One step led to another and he soon became a member of the professional company.
