Tapestry Dance Company Holiday Events
November 20, 2007
Dear Tapestry Student/Parent:
Andrea Bloukos

Just a short note to update you on some important information as the end-of-year holiday season is fast upon us!

I want to personally invite all of our students, both adults and children, to help us celebrate our first Holiday Season in our new studio on Sunday, December 9th. Tapestry Dance Company's Academy will host a Holiday Open House that afternoon complete with a holiday crafts fair, refreshments, dance demonstrations, a visit from and photos with Santa, and much more. Please see the article below for more details.

Our pre-apprentice company for high-school students, Visions in Rhythm, has been invited to perform at the annual Agudas Achim concert, Many Faiths, Many Lands, on Thursday, December 6th at 7:00pm.  VIR director Tasha Lawson and I hope to see many of you at the concert to support our teen dancers.  This concert is a great opportunity for our younger academy students to see where they might be headed in the next few years at Tapestry.

Please note that the Academy will be closed during Thanksgiving Break. Classes will resume on Monday, November 26th, followed up shortly thereafter by our Academy Observation Week, December 3rd-8th.

We wish all our Tapestry family a wonderful and restful Thanksgiving Holiday!

Sincerely,

Andrea Bloukos
President, Tapestry Board of Directors

Thanksgiving - Academy Closed
Happy Turkey Day to Everyone!
Tapestry Dance Company Academy will be closed for the Thanksgiving Holidays on Wednesday, November 21st, through Sunday, November 25th.  Classes will resume on Monday, November 26th. All of us at Tapestry have much to be grateful for this year, and we wish everyone a restful break with family and friends.
Academy Observation Week
Come and see your children in class Dec. 3rd - 8th
Parents, come and see how your children are progressing during Observation Week, Dec. 3rd - 8th.  We will have chairs in the classroom for you to enjoy watching the children.  Observation Week is a great opportunity to get to know your child's dance teacher better and to meet some of their class friends. If you will be bringing younger siblings to Observation Week, we ask that you make sure they have a quiet activity or a small snack to help them get through the class period.  We look forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks!

Visions in Rhythm (VIR)*
Esprit Dance GroupTapestry's Pre-Apprentice Company to Perform at "Many Lands, Many Faiths" Concert on Thursday, Dec. 6th, 7:00pm at Congregation Agudas Achim on the Dell Jewish Community Campus

Many Lands Many Faiths
Visions in Rhythm invites you to their performance as part of a wonderful Holiday Concert at Congregation Agudas Achim on the Dell Jewish Community Campus. The 7th Annual Many Lands, Many Faiths Concert celebrates the music of various cultures in an ongoing effort to foster community relationships and build respect and understanding through music. The Many Lands, Many Faiths Concert was created by Hazzan Neil Blumofe following the events of September 11, 2001, and has grown each year into a well-loved and much anticipated community event.

In addition to VIR, the concert will include performances by Susanna Sharpe and friends, the St. Stephen's Madrigal Singers and the McCallum HS Steel Drum Band "Knights of Steel". Bring your family and friends to this fun holiday event.  Admission is free, but donations are appreciated. The concert will be held in the sanctuary at Congregation Agudas Achim - click here for a map.

*Visions in Rhythm (VIR) is Tapestry's pre-apprentice company. This junior level company is directed by Tasha Lawson and explores the Tapestry philosophy through the rehearsal process and public performance. The VIR members will rehearse with guest and resident choreographers in the development of multi-form concert works. In addition to performances at various venues throughout the year, the company performs an original concert each year in the spring.
