Randall Soileau currently serves as ballet master for Tapestry Dance Company classes. Randy, a native of Baton Rouge, began his studies with Louisiana Ballet. He continued his training with American Ballet Theater, Robert Joffrey, and Texas Christian University. Randy was a principal dancer with Fort Worth Ballet, Fort Worth Opera Ballet, Casa Maņana Musicals, Dallas Summer Musicals, and later joined Ballet West of Salt Lake City.
He danced in the National Tour of Fiddler on the Roof and has worked for the Los Angeles Chamber Ballet, 1984 Summer Olympics, and several rock videos and musicals. In 1984 he moved to Austin and danced with Ballet Austin. In 1985-1986 Randy received critical acclaim as producing artistic director for Ballet Alaska and dance master for Alaska Contemporary Dance Company.
He returned to Texas to found the Austin Contemporary Ballet/Texas Youth Ballet. As Artistic Director of ACB/TYB for seven years, he choreographed many Texas premieres including Carmen, Mardi Gras Masquerade, Illusions and Dreams, and The Red Shoes. He has worked with many youth companies including Visions in Rhythm and Dance Spectrum of Austin.
In addition to teaching for Tapestry, Randy works as a guest teacher and choreographer for Corpus Christi Concert Ballet, Victoria Ballet Theatre, City Ballet of Dallas, and Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre.
