Odette Solitaire

Odette currently holds a Bachelor of Science Nutrition and Foods from Texas State University. She began her dance training in Brownsville, TX under the direction of Linda Young and later Diana Hasting-Morris. Her training includes ballet, tap, jazz, modern, African and Ballet Folklorico.
She recently had the privilege of studying dance in Havana, Cuba under the direction of Miguel Iglesias where she studied baile contemporanea and danza afro cubana.
In college she performed with Tizatlan Dance Co. both in the U.S. and abroad. She now resides in Austin, TX where she has been a part of the dance community for 13 years as a teacher, performer and choreographer.
Odette is also the founder and director of her own bilingual dance program Escuelitia Dance. She is staffed by Starlight as a judge and has received awards for outstanding choreography. She continues her training in L.A. at the Edge Performing Arts Center in addition to her training her in Austin.
She is happy to be a part of the great staff and faculty of Tapestry.
