Erica Santiago

A native of Austin Texas, Erica Santiago began her classical dance training at the age of fourteen with Austin Contemporary Ballet. After graduating from high school, she moved to Fort Worth to study at Texas Christian University. Ms. Santiago received her Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Ballet and Modern from TCU in 2003. She has had the opportunity and pleasure of studying with dance artists Fernando Bujones, Elizabeth Gillaspy, Doug Varone, Adrienne Clancy, Susan Douglas Roberts, Holly Williams, Lynn Wilshire, Kim Abel, Hope Boykin, Kathy Dunn Hamrick, Dixon Mena, and Alonzo King. Erica has been a member of Contemporary Ballet Dallas, Contemporary Dance Fort Worth, and Ballet East Dance Theatre. As a company member of CBD, she choreographed two original pieces for the company, Full Circle and Porch Ties. She has also had the opportunity to perform Elizabeth Gillaspy’s solo, Head On, and has performed in cities throughout Texas, North Carolina and Mexico. Ms. Santiago’s teaching credits include TCU, Contemporary Dance Fort Worth, and L.A.R.T. Dance Project. She has also instructed outreach programs in dance at Martin Middle School and Johnston High School. As past resident choreographer for Stars Theatre Company she choreographed the musicals The Wizard of Oz, Aladdin, Pirates of Penzance and Beauty and the Beast. Erica, currently a member of the Kathy Dunn Hamerick Dance Company, teaches dance for Fusion Dance Company and 620 Dance Center. She is also teaching yoga at Dharma Yoga.
