Amanda Butterfield

Instructs: Dance Theater

 

After graduating from the dance and English departments at Ohio University, Amanda Butterfield moved to NYC, spending much of her career working for and with independent dance makers. Amanda has enjoyed showing her work at the Williamsburg Art Nexus (WAX), Dance Space Center, University Settlement, Galapagos Art Space, PS122, Dance Forum-NY, the Blue Theater, and the American Dance Festival.

Formally trained in Cechetti, Graham, Horton, Limón, Skinner/release, and Simonson techniques, Amanda draws movement from various trainings, including the Gyrotonic expansion system®, a holistic approach to physical training.

Amanda Butterfield is the co-artistic director of Yellow Tape Construction Co.
